The National Capital Region Police Office under the leadership of its Regional Director, PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS ordered for the intensification of its campaign against wanted persons hiding in the Metro.
Towards this end, all police districts were mandated to ensure that warrants of arrest are duly served and persons subject thereof were brought before the court ordering for their arrest.
In line with this, operatives from the District Intelligence Division of NPD initiated an intelligence driven operation following information from a regular confidential informant regarding the whereabouts of the accused.
This led to the successful service of an alias warrant of arrest to the accused at about 2:00 PM of July 22, 2020 at No. 72, Maayusin St., Diliman, Quezon City.
The person subject of the warrant was identified as ERNESTO DIESTA JR, 53 years old, male, single, jobless and with known address at No. 787, 8 Ave., Daang Bakal, Caloocan City.
He was ranked Top 4 District Level Most Wanted Person for the 3rd Quarter of 2020 and is the subject of a warrant of arrest for Murder docketed under Criminal Case No. C-74925 issued by Presiding Judge EDISON F QUINTIN of RTC Branch 121, Caloocan City.
The accused was brought to Sub-Station 1 Caloocan City Police Station detention facility while waiting for the issuance of commitment order and return of the warrant of arrest to the court of origin.
“I commend the personnel of Caloocan City Police Station NPD for their dedication to duty despite the challenges brought by this health crisis. May this serve as a warning to those who have standing warrants of arrest that NCRPO will not cease until they are made to answer for the charges filed against them in court,” said PMGEN SINAS.
