NCRPO Regional Director, PMGEN DEBOLD SINAS commends the successful anti-illegal drugs operation of Taguig City Police Station which resulted in the arrest of two (2) suspects at about 03:40 PM of July 27, 2020 along 26-B Kasoy St. Brgy. Western Bicutan, Taguig City.
Suspects were identified as:
a. Randy Sarmiento y Rivera alyas “Bonet”, 39 years old, male, single, employee of CSW, Taguig City, born on September 6, 1981 in Taguig City and presently residing at No. 26-B Kasoy St. Brgy. Western, Bicutan, Taguig City; and
b. Ronnie Sarmiento y Rivera alyas “Jun Bagyo”, 40 years old, male, married, jobless, October 3, 1980 in Taguig City and presently residing at No. 26-B Kasoy St. Brgy. Western, Bicutan, Taguig City
The operation stemmed from a text message received from a concerned citizen regarding the illegal activities of the suspects within Western Bicutan. PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS immediately ordered the verification of the report and institution police operation upon confirmation.
Initial investigation disclosed that the joint operatives of Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) and Sub-Station 2 of Taguig City Police Station in coordination with PDEA RO-NCR, Southern Police District Office conducted Buy Bust operation against the suspects. After the transaction has been made, operatives immediately effected their arrest.
Evidence Recovered during the operation were:
a) Five (5) pieces of heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu
b) Two (2) pieces One Hundred Peso Bill with Dusting Powder from SPD Crime Laboratory
c) One (1) piece coin purse color black
d) One (1) unit cellular phone VIVO brand
The confiscated illegal drugs has an aggregate estimated weight of more or less 4.26 grams with a DDB value amounting to Php 28,968.00. It has been turned over to the SPD Crime laboratory for confirmatory testing.
Inventory of said pieces of evidence were witnessed by Brgy. Kagawad Pedrito Bermas of Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig City and Mr. Nolan Ariola of Leader News Philippines.
Subsequently, criminal complaints for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Article Il of RA 9165 otherwise known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against the suspects who are now under the custody of the Taguig City Police Station.
“This successful operation is a manifestation that reports from public are vital in the identification and arrest of drug suspects and criminals. Through continuous public’s support, Team NCRPO will be able to arrest more drug peddlers and sources in Metro Manila,” said PMGEN SINAS.
