National Capital Region Police Office Chief, PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS congratulated the successful buy-bust operation of Ermita Police Station (PS-5), Manila Police District that resulted in the arrest of a drug suspect and confiscation of more or less 1.32 kilograms of Marijuana.
Suspect was identified as Merville Villahermosa y Letada also known as “Kuya,” male, 30 years old, single, jobless and a resident of 1545 Benitez St., Paco Manila.
The operation stemmed from a report of a confidential informant. After series of surveillance and monitoring, a buy-bust operation was plotted by operatives of PS-5 in coordination with PDEA-RO NCR along Benitez St., near corner Escoda Street, Paco Manila.
Investigation disclosed that on August 1, 2020 at about 11:30PM upon arrival at the scene, police officer a poseur-buyer completed the transaction and gave the signal for the arrest of Villahermosa.
Operatives were able to recover the following pieces of evidence:
1.Two(2) large self-sealing transparent plastic sachet each containing dried leaves believed to be “KUSH” a high-grade marijuana;
2.Three (3) small self-sealing transparent plastic sachet each containing dried leaves believed to be “KUSH” a high-grade Marijuana;
3. One (1) block in rectangular shape wrapped in color brown packaging tape containing dried leaves believed to be “KUSH” a high-grade Marijuana;
4.One (1) self-sealing transparent plastic sachet containing bundle of self-sealing plastic;
5.One (1) digital weighing scale;
6.One (1) color black and gray backpack; and
7.One (1) PHP1,000.00 peso bill bearing serial number CS412238 with marking SDET utilized as marked buy-bust money.
Further investigation disclosed that Villahermosa used to sell Kush Marijuana and was arrested in 2018 by the operatives of Station Drug Enforcement Unit of said police station.
The confiscated pieces of evidence were duly marked and inventoried in the presence of Brgy Kagawad Francisco Dagandara of Brgy 660A, Z-71, Manila and Mr. Jerome Amoroso of Saksi/Bomba Express.
Seized 1.32 kilograms of KUSH Marijuana with Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of PHP123,840.00 and other pieces of evidence were turned-over to Manila Police District Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis.
Meanwhile, complaints for alleged violation of Section 5 and Section 11 of RA 9165 are being prepared for inquest proceedings agianst the Villahermosa who is currently detained at the custodial facility of Ermita Police Station.
