The National Capital Region Police Chief PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS commended the operatives of the Manila Police District, Ermita Police Station for the successful conduct of their anti-illegal drug campaign which led to the confiscation of around Php1,006,400.00 worth of illegal drugs at about 2:00 AM yesterday, 14th day of June, 2020.
The operation stemmed from a series of intelligence gathering, surveillance, monitoring and investigation regarding the involvement of the suspect in a large scale drug operation in the Metro.
Upon finding the information to be meritable, the operatives plotted the buy-bust operation to be executed along Block 15, Baseco Compound, Port Are, Manila.
The operatives then proceeded to the place of transaction where the above-named suspect did then and there, willfully, unlawfully and feloniously sell to the police poseur buyer one (1) piece of heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be “shabu”.
Immediately after the consummation of the offense, the police poseur buyer then signalled for the arrest of the suspect who was later identified to be NORMINA KAMSA y ABDULLAH @NUR, female, 29 years old, married, jobless a resident of Block 9, Baseco Compound, Port Area, Manila.
Further investigation disclosed that the suspect was actually included in the District Drug Watchlist of the Manila Police District.
Recovered from the suspect are the following pieces of evidence thus:
- Four (4) pieces of heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu;
- One (1) colored peach pouch bag;
- One (1) unit of cellular phone; and
- One (1) piece of Php1,000.00 peso bill utilized as the marked buy-bust money.
The confiscated pieces of drug evidence has an estimated weight of more or less 148 grams and a standard street value of Php1,006,400.00.
The seized items were inventoried in the place of arrest before the presence of the arrested suspect and mandatory witnesses Mr. Ernesto H. Buan, Media Representative (Gilas Express) and Barangay Kagawad Francisco Dagandara of Brgy. 660-A Zone 71, District V, Manila.
Consequently, the pieces of drug evidence was turned over to MPD-CLO for forensic chemical laboratory examination while the arrested suspect will be facing charges for violation of Section 5 (Selling, Distribution and Transportation of Dangerous Drug) and Section 11 (IIlegal Possession of Dangerous Drug) Article II of RA 9165 otherwise known as Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“I commend the successful execution of the MPD Ermita Police Station of this buy bust operation which resulted in the confiscation of more than 1 Million worth of illegal drugs. This is a great number less in the circulation of this unlawful substance in the market. I encourage all police units to invigorate their effort towards the attainment of our goal to set the Metro free from the proliferation of illegal drugs,” Said PMGEN SINAS.
