3.4 M WORTH OF SUSPECTED SHABU SEIZED IN A JOINT BUY-BUST OPS IN QUEZON CITY, SUSPECTS ARRESTED

In line with the intensified campaign against the proliferation of illegal drugs in the Metro, PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS, Regional Director, National Capital Region Police Office commends the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of Batasan Police Station (PS-6), Quezon City Police District in coordination with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for the successful joint buy-bust operation resulting in the arrest of two (2) male drug suspects.

The operation stemmed after receiving a report from a confidential informant who personally reported to PS-6 the illegal activities of the suspects. After the report, operatives immediately conducted series of surveillance and monitoring on the whereabouts and scheme of the suspects. Upon confirmation of the illegal activity, a buy-bust operation was plotted.

Investigation disclosed that the suspects were arrested after the completion of a transaction during buy-bust operation by the joint operatives of SDEU, PS-6 and PDEA RONCR, wherein one operative acted as a poseur buyer. The arrest transpired at about 2:05PM on September 5, 2020, along IBP road in front of Quezon City Polytechnic University, Quezon City.

Arrested suspect were identified as: Arnel Corre y Baturiano, 24 years old, male, Delivery boy, single, native of Quezon City and presently residing at No.17 Maya street, Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City; and Dionesio Infante y Garcia, 23 years old, male, Grab Driver, native of Quezon City and presently residing at No. 50 residential street Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City.

Pieces of evidence siezed from the possession and control of the suspect were:
1.) Two (2) large knot tied transparent plastic sachet containing undetermined quantity of white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu;
2.) One (1) genuine php 1000.00;
3.) seven hundred thousand (700,000) boodle money;
4.) One (1) Suzuki smash motorcycle;
5.) One V9 Vivo Cellphone; and,
6.) One (1) Black Sling Bag.

The confiscated illegal drugs has an aggregate weight of more or less 500 grams amounting to PHP3,400,000.00. It has been turned over to PDEA Laboratory for confirmatory testing.

Moreover, upon the arrest, suspects were informed of their Constitutional Rights in a language they understood. The markings and inventory of confiscated evidence was conducted at the site right after the arrest which was witnessed by Barangay Kagawad Jhorwin Santos Of Brgy. Batasan hills, Quezon City and Mr. Alex Mendoza of QCPD Press Corps.

The arrested suspects were turned over to PDEA for proper documentation pending the filing of appropriate charges in violation of Sec 5 and Section 11 of Article II, RA 9165 otherwise known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
