National Capital Region Police Chief, PMGEN SINAS lauds the successful operations of the District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) – District Special Operation Unit (DSOU) of the Northern Police District for the arrest of three (3) drug peddlers during a buy-bust operation at about 5:00PM on September 2, 2020 at a parking lot located at No 717, Old Compound, Barangay 72, District 2, Caloocan City.

Suspects were identified as Roan Joyce Garcia y Frias (Watchlisted), 23 y/o, single, online seller, resident of Blk. 54, Lot 45, Domato Residence, North Tala Phase 12, Brgy. 188, Caloocan City;  Regino Lucas y Asistio (Watchlisted), 34 y/o, single, jobless, resident of Area 4, Malinta Pinalagan, Valenzuela City and Rey Halaghay y Abella (Watchlisted), 52 y/o, married, driver, Blk. 51, Lot 45, Phase 12, Brgy. 188, Tala, Caloocan City.

The operation stemmed from previous anti-illegal drugs Buy-bust operation of DDEU-NPD on September 2, 2020 wherein the No. 1 in the NPD’s Top 10 Drug Personalities and Leader of Onie Drug Group was arrested and more or less 110 grams of Shabu worth P748, 000.00 was confiscated.

Through intelligence and follow-up operation, personnel of DDEU- DSOU, NPD planned and conducted a follow-up buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of the suspects who were believed to be members of the Onie Drug Group.

Pieces of evidence seized from their possession and control were: one (1) pc. medium heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected Shabu; two (2) pcs. medium knot tied plastic bag containing suspected Shabu; one (1) pc. genuine P1,000.00 bill with serial number LK315006 incorporated with five (5) pcs. P1,000.00 boodle money used as buy-bust money; one (1) unit gold Vivo Cellular Phone; and one (1) grey Toyota Corolla bearing plate number XTW 672.

The items were duly marked and inventoried in the presence of Barangay Kagawad Vicente Sarmiento, Barangay 72, Zone 7, District 2, Caloocan City and Mr. Ismael “Ka Mameng” Santos of Bulgar Tabloid and CAMANAVA Press Corps.

The confiscated illegal drugs has an estimated weight of more or less 110 grams with Standard Drug Price amounting to PHP714, 000.00. Suspects were brought to DDEU-NPD for proper disposition pending the filing of appropriate charges before the court for violation of Sec. 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Sec. 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and Sec. 26 (Conspiracy) under Article ll of R.A. 9165 otherwise known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
