680K Worth Of Illegal Drugs, Busted In Quezon City

The National Capital Region Police Office Chief,  PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS lauds the successful operation conducted by the joint operatives of Kamuning Police Station 10 Drug Enforcement Unit, Makati City Police Station and District Intelligence Division (DID), SPD in close coordination with PDEA which resulted in the seizure of around Php680,000.00 worth of shabu and arrest of a watch listed drug personality in Makati.

According to the initial report, the buy-bust operation stemmed from an information from a regular confidential informant who personally appeared before Police Station 10 to report the illegal drug activity of a certain a.k.a “REY”, particularly his drug activities and involvement in selling shabu within the areas of responsibility of Quezon City Police District and Southern Police District.

Hence, coordination was made with Southern Police District and PDEA RO-NCR in order to determine the veracity of the report and it was disclosed that the subject person was DI Listed.

Consequently, a buy bust operation was plotted to be conducted along J.P Rizal St., near corner Trabaho St., Brgy. Olympia, Makati City against a.k.a “REY”, wherein one of the police officers acted as the Poseur Buyer. Upon arrival in the location, and consummation of sale, the police officer executed the pre-arranged signal to arrest the suspect at about 4:00 PM of July 13, 2020.

He was later identified as RONALDO ASUNCION y Arzadon, 47 years old (DOB Dec 13, 1972), married, OFW, native of Manila and presently residing at No. 6167 Everlasting St., Brgy. Camarin, Caloocan City was done at about 4:00 PM of July 13, 2020 along J.P Rizal St., near corner Trabaho St., Brgy. Olympia, Makati City.

Recovered from him were the following pieces of evidence to wit:

a.         Four (4) pieces of medium size heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing undetermined amount of white crystalline substance commonly known as shabu marked as BBJLCRA1 7-13-20, BBJLCRA2 7-13-20, BBJLCRA3 7-13-20  and BBJLCRA4 7-13-20 all with signature;

b.         Buy-bust money amounting to One Hundred Eighty Thousand Pesos (P180,000.00) One (1) piece of Genuine One Thousand Peso Bill with initial at the upper left portion of the bill bearing serial number CL738331 incorporated with One Hundred Seventy Nine (179) pieces of One Thousand Peso Bill as boodle money);

c.         One (1) polkadot paper bag marked as JLCRA1 7-13-20 with signature;

d.         One (1) unit of Android cellphone marked as FMRA1  7-13-20 with signature; and

e.         One (1) unit of analogue cellphone marked as FMRA2 7-13-20 with signature.

The marking and inventory of the recovered pieces of evidence during the buy-bust operation was witnessed by Brgy. Kagawad Romeo Medina Jr., of Brgy. Olympus, Makati City and Media Representative Alex Mendoza of QCPD Press Corps.

The seized suspected shabu weighs more or less 100 grams with a DDB value of around Php 680,000.00. It was turned over to the crime laboratory of QCPD for confirmatory chemical analysis while the suspect was detained in the Custodial Facility of Kamuning Police Station for filing of charges for Violation of Section 5, Art. II of RA 9165.

May this serve as a warning to those who continuously engage in similar unlawful activities that NCRPO will not lax in its sworn duty to keep the Metro safe from all forms of criminality and illegal drugs amidst this pandemic,” PMGEN SINAS said.
