PEDOPHILE PRIEST ARRESTED Father Kenneth Pius Hendricks, an American Roman Catholic priest, was arrested by the Bureau of Immigration Fugitive Search Unit last December 5, 2018 by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest issued by Stephanie Bowman, US magistrate judge of the US District Court for the District of Ohio, issued on November 11, 2018, on charges of “engaging in illicit sex with a minor in a foreign country, punishable by fines and/or up to 30 years in prison. Today, February 19,2019, the Regional Director of National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) – PDIR GUILLERMO LORENZO T ELEAZAR personally served another five Warrant of Arrest to the same Father Kenneth Pius Hendricks at about 11:00am, at the Bureau of Immigration Detention Cell in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City where the priest has been detained since his arrest last December 5, 2018. The five warrant of arrest were from the Eight Judicial Region RTC Branch 16 Naval, Biliran issued by Hon. Constantino F Esber, Acting Presiding Judge for Criminal case nos. N-3754 dated December 11, 2018 and N-3752 for Acts of Lasciviousness In Relation to sec 5 (b) of RA 7610, and Criminal case nos. N-3750 dated December 11, 2018, N-3751, N-3753 for Violation of Section 5(a) of RA 7610 (Child Abuse). The implementation of the warrant of arrest this morning was a joint effort of the Regional Special Operations Unit (RSOU)-NCRPO, the Bureau of Immigration Fugitive Search Unit and the US Department of Homeland Security. Available information reveals that the Franciscan priest has molested more than 50 people, mostly altar boys as young as seven years old. The new victims were encouraged to openly accuse the priest after learning that he was arrested. They were afraid to come out in the open immediately because of grave threats from the priest. Hendricks arrived in the Philippines from Cincinnati, Ohio, USA in 1968. Upon arrival in our country, he was ordained as a priest in the Franciscan Order and practiced his vocation at the St. Isidore the Worker Chapel at Talustosan Village in Biliran Province. The priest is currently detained at RSOU detention cell and the five warrant of arrest will be returned to the court of origin. NCRPO Dir Eleazar said “This arrest is another testament to the truism that the long arm of the law will always catch up with criminals. It may have taken some time for Hendricks to be indicted and arrested, but at the end of the day, he is where he should be – in jail.” #TeamNCRPO
