NCRPO Chief, PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS acknowledged the consistent conduct of anti-criminality operation / checkpoint in Batasan Station that led to the arrest of an armed drug suspect at about 10:50 PM of June 18, 2020 along Capitol Hills Drive, Brgy. Old Balara, Quezon City.
Suspect was identified as Alex Alviz y Cerezo, 38 years old, Single, Jobless, native of Batangas and residing at Indonesia Street, Centennial 1b, Brgy. Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.
Probe reveals that during the conduct of Anti-Criminality / Checkpoint, police officers chanced upon Alviz who was about to approach them but instead, made a U turn to avoid authorities. There and then, one police officer was able to stop him for verification.
When the suspect was getting his license in his sling bag, one police officer was able to see a piece of small heat sealed transparent plastic sachet suspected to be shabu. Further search and verification was then conducted and Alviz was instructed to show all the things inside his sling bag.
During the search, police officers recovered a hand Gun revolver with 4 pieces of live ammunition.
Suspect was immediately arrested and confiscated pieces of evidence from his possession were:
two (2) pieces small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu;
One (1) pc .22 Caliber Revolver with four (4) pcs live ammunition;
One (1) pc hand bag;
and One (1) piece Motorcycle YAMAHA MIOi 125
Suspect is now under police custody of Police Station 6 Batasan for proper disposition, pending filing of charges in court.
Complaints for violation of Section 11 of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and RA 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition) are being prepared for filing in court against the suspect.
The inventory of evidence was witnessed by Brgy Kagawad Noel Mira of Brgy Old Balara, Quezon City and Jose Lizandro Villapando of Bitag Multi Media Network.
