BUY-BUST OPS IN VALENZUELA CONDUCTED, SUSPECT NABBED, 500K WORTH OF SHABU CONFISCATED

The National Capital Region Police Office, Chief, PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS lauds the Valenzuela City Police Station, Northern Police District in coordination with PDEA for the successful buy-bust operation which resulted in the arrest of the suspect along Elysian St. Marulas, Valenzuela City at around 2:30 PM of July 27, 2020.

The operation stemmed after a confidential informant reported the illegal drug activities of the suspect. A police officer acted as a poseur buyer to confirm the validity of the report, and upon confirmation, the operation ensued.

Investigation disclosed that the suspect was identified as Ryan Catayna y Catapang @ Ryan, male, 37 years old (DOB: Sept. 3, 1982/POB: Batangas), jobless, single and residing at No. 7051 Avocado St. Comembo Makati City.

Operatives were able to recover from the suspect’s possession and control the following pieces of evidence:

a) Five (5) pcs. heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected SHABU
b) One (1) pc. Knot tied transparent plastic containing suspected SHABU
c) One (1) pc. One thousand peso bills incorporated with fifteen (15) pcs. One thousand peso boodle money used as buy bust money
d) Twenty seven (27) pcs. one hundred peso bills
e) One (1) unit Samsung duos cellphone color black
f) One (1) unit digital weighing scale
g) One (1) pc. Leather cellphone pouch color black
h) One (1) unit Honda wave motorcycle color black with plate no. NI 1560 with helmet and keys.

The items were duly marked and inventoried in the presence of Brgy. Kagawad Demetrio Salenga of Marulas, Valenzuela City and Media Representative Ric Roldan of NMG Hataw Press Corps.

The confiscated illegal drugs has an aggregate estimated weight of more or less 75 grams with Standard Drug Price (SDP) value of Php 510,000.00 and will be turned over to NPD Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis.

The arrested suspect is in the custody of Valenzuela City Police Station while a case for Violation of Sec. 5 and Sec. 11 Under Art. II of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is being prepared.

“I commend the operatives of Valenzuela City Police Station for their continuous campaign to fight criminality and illegal drug activities. May this serve as a warning to other offenders that TEAM NCRPO will never cease to make the Metro safe and secure,” PMGEN SINAS said.
