Combined anti-drug efforts of the District Drug Enforcement Unit District Special Operations Unit of Northern Police District and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, NCR successfully conducted an anti illegal drug buy bust operation at about 6:45 PM, April 16, 2020 along Alupihan St. Barangay Longos, Malabon City.

The operatives positively identified the suspects as Alias Estong Bato ; John Mark De Guzman and Alyas Bayag.

The arrest was made through the buy-bust operation conducted wherein an operative acted as a poseur buyer. Said operative negotiated to transact with the suspects. However, during the said transaction, suspects noticed that they were dealing with a Police Operative and suddenly pulled out a firearm from his waist and a scuffle ensued. Back-up Security personnel were able to fireback towards the suspects who sustained gunshot wounds in their body.

The wounded Operative was immediately rushed to Chinese General Hospital for medical interventions. Alias Estong Bato immediately fell on the ground was rushed at Ospital ng Malabon by DDEU Operatives but was later pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician. De Guzman who initially eluded the crime scene, but was later arrested. Meanwhile, Alyas Bayag was able to elude arrest.

Further investigation disclosed that two (2) among the suspects were included in drugs watchlist.

Recovered at the scene were three (3) pieces medium size heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected Shabu; one (1) unit Colt Caliber .45 Pistol loaded with one magazine and ammunition; and
one (1) pc. P500.00 bill utilized as buy-bust money.

A total ofmore or less 20 grams with a standard drug price amounting to P136,000.00 was seize.

PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS, Regional Director, NCRPO assured that Team NCRPO is working ceaselessly to stop the proliferation of illegal drugs. “This incident shows the risk in the life of operatives. Nevertheless, we have sworn to do this and we will carry on performing our mandated tasks,” he said.

“We will continue the case build up to apprehend his cohorts and other drug suspects” PMGEN SINAS added.
