National Capital Region Police Office Chief, PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS, commends the personnel of Station EOD Canine Unit (SECU) of Caloocan City Police Station for their immediate response and safe recovery of an alleged vintage bomb at MCU Construction Site, Morning Breeze Subdivision, Brgy 84 EDSA, Caloocan City at about 3:00PM on August 21, 2020.
Investigation disclosed that an alleged unexploded ordnance was accidentally discovered at MCU construction site, Morning Breeze Subdivision, Barangay 84 EDSA, Caloocan City. Anticipating the danger, a certain Mr. Raynoel V Oliquino, Safety Officer and a Contractor of DCMS Trading and Construction, immediately called and reported the incident to Sub-Station 5, Caloocan City Police Station.
Subsequently, personnel of SECU, Caloocan CPS proceeded to the said area to verify the veracity of the report. Upon arrival at the said location, the team conducted the Render Safety Procedure (RSP), Pick up Carry Away (PUCA) and were able to recover one (1) unexploded ordnance, identified as a General-Purpose Bomb, 250 pounder (Corroded).
Meanwhile, the said ordnance was brought to the SECU-Caloocan office for safekeeping and eventual disposal.
PMGEN SINAS, thanked the reportee as well as Team SECU, Caloocan City Police Station for their quick and appropriate action to ensure the safety of all those present at the construction site.
“Sa pangyayaring ito, binabati ko ang pagkaalerto at mabilis na pag-ulat ng ating kababayan sa himpilan ng pulisya at ang agarang pagtugon ng ating koponan. Kaya muli hinihikayat ko ang ating mga kababayan na huwag mag-atubiling iulat ang anumang may katuturang impormasyon sa pinakamalapit na estasyon ng pulisya upang mabigyan ito ng naaangkop na tugon para sa kabutihan at kaligtasan ng ating komunidad,” PMGEN SINAS stated.
