Chinese Illegal Pogo Operators Arrested For ECQ Violation

Elements from the National Capital Region  Special Operations Group, Regional Intelligence Division, DID SPD, Parañaque City Police Station together with RCIDU, CIDG conducted a raid and arrested a group of Chinese Men for violation of the ECQ in Mayuga St., Tambo, Parañaque City at about 7:30pm of April 24, 2020.

The operation stemmed from an information from a concerned citizen regarding the presence of armed Chinese men in the area beyond the time authorized under existing curfew laws.

This prompted the above units to conduct an operation to verify the veracity of the information received.

Upon their arrival in the area, they positively saw the suspects with guns visibly tucked in their waists. Hence, they made themselves known as police officers, but the suspects immediately tried to flee to their residential house.

The operating unit chased them which resulted in their arrest and the discovery of an illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) inside their vicinity and the recovery of the following items:

34 units of laptops

13 units of desktops

Several units of cellular phones

3 pcs cal 45 pistol

2 pcs 9mm pistol

17 rounds of ammo for cal 45

3 magazines of cal 45

4 magazines of cal 9mm

63 rounds of ammo of cal 9mm

and 1.334M peso bills

Public safety is everyone’s concern and this scenario is a good example of how our jobs are done better with the support of the people by giving us information regarding suspiciously dangerous situations in their locality” Said NCRPO Chief, PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS.

Chinese POGO operators composed of fourteen (14) female Chinese, thirty (30) male Chinese and nine (9) male Filipino employees were arrested in the crime scene and were brought to District Headquarters SPD for documentation and filing of appropriate charges.
