Chinese National Nabbed Over Profiteering And Hoarding Alcohol And Other Medical Supplies

The Station Investigation and Detective Management Division of Caloocan City Police Station successfully conducted an entrapment operation at about 2:30 P.M. of May 5, 2020 at No. 15 C Gen. PIO Valenzuela Street, Brgy 78, Caloocan City.

PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS, Regional Director, NCRPO identified the suspect as Robin Merenda Siwa (Chinese National), 32 years (Sept: 26 1988), businessman and residing at No.15 C Gen. PIO Valenzuela St., Brgy 78, Caloocan City.

Investigation disclosed that an operative acting as poseur buyer managed to buy two gallons of ethyl alcohol in exchange of 2,000 pesos marked money given to the suspect. After receiving the signal of the poseur buyer, back up operatives rushed in to the place of occurrence and arrested the suspect.

Upon arrest, operatives discovered several gallons of ethy alcohol, masks and other medical supplies inside the two-storey apartment with more or less 4 million pesos worth of alcohol and other medical supplies.

Thereafter, verification from Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) Caloocan City revealed that the suspect has no business permit to sell alcohol and medical products.

Further investigation on the suspect’s identification is being conducted while complaints for Violation of R.A. 7581 (Hoarding and Profiteering) will be filed against the arrested suspect to include Violation of Art. 151 of the Revised Penal Code (Resistance and disobedience to a person in authority or the agents of such person) and Violation of City Ordinance (Drinking in Public Places).
