Cult Leader Ruben Ecleo Jr Transferred To New Bilibid Prison

NCRPO Director, PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS personally supervised the transfer of the Philippines’ Most Wanted fugitive, Ruben Ecleo Jr., to the New Bilibid Prison this 5th day of August 2020 at about 12:55 PM.

A commitment order issued by Hon. EFREN N. DE LA CRUZ, Chairperson/Associate Justice was received for:

1. Criminal Case No. 24467, where the court finds the accused Ruben B Ecleo, Jr., Anadelia Naluan Navarra and Ricardo L Santillano GUILTY beyond reasonable doubt of violation of Section 3 (e) of Republic Act No. 3019 and they are sentenced to suffer the penalty of imprisonment of Six (6) years and One (1) month to ten (10) years and six (6) months.

2. Criminal Case No. 24468, where the court finds the accused Ruben B Ecleo, Jr., Anadelia Naluan Navarra and Ricardo L Santillano GUILTY beyond Reasonable doubt of Violation of Section 3 (e) of Republic Act No. 3019 and they are each sentenced to suffer the penalty of imprisonment of six (6) years and one (1) month to ten (10) years and six (6) months.

3. Criminal Case No. 24469, where the court finds the accused Ruben B Ecleo, Jr, GUILTY beyond Reasonable doubt of Violation of Section 3 (e) of Republic Act No. 3019 and he is hereby sentenced to suffer the penalty of imprisonment of six (6) years and one (1) month to ten (10) years and six (6) months and to suffer the penalty of perpetual disqualification from public office.

Prior to his transfer, NCRPO coordinated with the NBP/BUCOR for the proper health and safety protocols wherein RT-PCR (Swab Test) and Rapid Anti-body Test were conducted which yielded negative results to ensure that Ecleo has not contracted the Corona Virus Disease 2019.

The NBP has received Ruben B Ecleo, Jr., at about 1:15PM today, August 20, 2020 escorted by two teams from Rapid Deployment Company 1 (RDC1) of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion, NCRPO and personnel from the Regional Intelligence Division/RSOG, NCRPO to avoid any untoward incident. Tight security protocol was also implemented during the transfer of Ecleo from Camp Bagong Diwa to NBP.

“I commend the effort exerted by Team NCRPO in this huge accomplishment. I also thank the public for giving information as to the whereabouts of Ecleo that resulted in his arrest. Ecleo, who has been hiding from the law for nine years, shall now serve his sentence. Rest assured that Team NCRPO will continuously initiate invigorated efforts to arrest wanted persons and ensure that the rule of law and justice prevails at all times”, said PMGEN SINAS.
