DRUG SUSPECT IN POSSESSION OF FIREARMS AND SHABU ARRESTED BY BATASAN POLICE

The National Capital Region Police Office Chief, PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS commends the operatives of Batasan Police Station, Quezon City Police District for the arrest of a drug suspect in possession of illegal firearms at about 11:50 pm of September 1, 2020 along Purok 7, Sitik Rolling Hills, Brgy. Bagong Silangan Quezon City.

Suspect was identified as Felix Antipolo y Diaz, 53 y.o., married, resident of Purok 7, Sitio Rolling Hills, Brgy. Bagong Silangan, Quezon City.

Record shows that according to his son, Antipolo uses drugs and abuses liquor. When high and drunk, he threatens their neighbors most of the time with his firearms. On September 1, 2020, a similar incident transpired where Antipolo allegedly used illegal drugs, was drunk  and threatened the people around him, thus, his son sought for police assistance.

Investigation disclosed that follow up operatives responded at Purok 7, Sitio Rolling Hills, Brgy. Bagong Silangan, QC regarding the incident. Suspect was arrested and operatives recovered pieces of evidence from his possession and control such as:

A. Two (2) pcs small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing undetermined quantity of white crystalline substance suspected as “shabu”. With estimated weight of two (2) grams and with DDB value of Php 13,600.

B. One (1) pc improvised Caliber .22 revolver without make and serial no., with inserted six (6) Pcs live ammunition.

C. One (1) hand Granade

D. Thirty (30) pcs assorted live ammunition

E. One (1) unserviceable caliber .22 revolver with serial no. S63736

F. One (1) unserviceable .38 revolver without serial no.

G. Four (4) assorted improvised handguns

H. Three (3) improvised magazines

I. Three (3) improvised gun barrel

J. Three (3) assorted gun parts

Further probing revealed that Antipolo is included in the Drug watchlist (surrendered).

The seized pieces of evidence were photographed, marked and inventoried in the presence of Kagawad FRANZ QUIJANO of brgy.  Bagong Silangan, QC, Mr. JAMES AGUSTINE of GMA7 and Mr. CHRISTOPHER YU of Tuklas News National.

Suspect is now under police custody of Police station 6 Batasan for proper disposition, pending the filing of charges for violation of  Section 11 of RA 9165 “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002” and RA 10591 “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act”.

“The cooperation and coordination of the public are the key tools in order for us to confiscate illegally possessed firearms. Do not hesitate to report similar cases and rest assured, your Metro cops will immediately respond,” said PMGEN SINAS.
