Drug Suspect Slain In An Encounter During A Buy-Bust Ops In Las Piñas

PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS commends the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of Las Piñas City Police Station, Southern Police District for a successful buy bust operation which led to the death of a drug suspect and recovery of  Php176k of illegal drugs in Las Piñas City.

Spot report showed that Buy-Bust Operation led by operatives of Station Drug Enforcement Unit, Las Piñas City Police Station on August 9, 2020 at about 10:30 pm at a depressed area Along Jerusalem St., BF Martinville, Brgy. Manuyo 2, Las Piñas City resulted in armed encounter with the suspect,RAFFY ADIM y LUMABAO,  legal age, male and a native of Cotabato City, Mindanao.

Accordingly, the operation was hatched when a confidential informant reported to the authorities about the illegal drug activities of Adim. Validation was made to verify the veracity of the report. As soon as confirmed, operatives conducted the operation wherein a police officer acted as a poseur buyer.

The suspect, upon sensing that he was transacting with an operative, suddenly pulled out a firearm of unknown caliber and fired towards the police officer, prompting other operatives to defend their fellow. Shortly, the suspect’s gun eventually jammed.

Subsequently, suspect was rushed to Las Pinas Doctors Hospital but was declared DOA due to gunshot wounds on the body. 

Confiscated from the possession of the suspect were 7 pieces heat sealed plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu ; One(1)sling bag ; buy bust money worth Php500.00; 1 black coin purse; 1 unit short firearm of unknown caliber; cash worth Php750.00 ; 6 pcs empty shell of a cal 9mm and 1 deformed slug of 9mm cal.

A total of 29 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of Php176,800.00 are now at SPD Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis.

Photographs, markings, and inventory of confiscated evidence was done at the place of the incident duly witnessed by Media Representative Mario Jose Cao and Barangay Kagawad Eduardo Taberna Sr of Brgy Manuyo 2, Las Piñas City.

“We are in the process of monitoring and gathering information to locate the suspect’s cohorts and source. The consistent diligence of our anti-illegal drug cops will surely identify those involved and confiscate more illegal drugs in Metro Manila,” said PMGEN SINAS.
