The NCRPO Regional Director PMGEN GUILLERMO LORENZO T ELEAZAR led the successful conduct of simultaneous implementation of Search Warrants together with the NCRPO Regional Special Operations Unit (RSOU) in coordination with Manila Police District Police Station 3 at about 10:00 am of July 18, 2019 within Sta. Cruz, Manila.
As a result, they arrested twenty-two (22) individuals and confiscated voluminous spurious documents and various identification cards and computer machines including accessories and dry seal stamps being utilized in the illegal activities.
The operation stemmed from a complaint of a DSWD attorney about minor girls rescued from bars and airports who hold fake birth certificates and passports from Recto.
The search warrantS with Nos. 19-29670, 19-29671, 19-29672, and 19-29673 were issued by Hon. Marlina M. Manuel, RTC Branch 25, Hon. Tammy Ann C Reyes Mendillo ,RTC Branch 22, Hon. Silvino T. Pamlio, RTC Branch 26, Manila.
The arrested suspects were later brought to RSOU office together with the confiscated pieces of evidence for investigation and proper disposition.
Criminal complaint for the crime under Article 172 (Falsification by private individual and used of falsified documents) of the Revised Penal Code, Section 31 of Article 11 of Republic Act 4136 and Presidential Decree 1730 (Declaring The Syndicated Printing, Manufacture, Distribution, Possession or Use of Fake Official Bureau of Land Transportation Forms, Documents, Plates And Stickers as Offenses Involving Economic Sabotage) will be referred for filing to the Manila Prosecutors Office against the arrested persons.
PMGEN ELEAZAR said, ”Itong ginagawa natin, malaki ang pakinabang not just in peace and order but in the security of the nation.”
PMGEN ELEAZAR also added, “Under our INTENSIFIED CLEANLINESS POLICY, we will now focus on erradicating these forgerers through follow up operations so we can clean up our city once and for all. Cleaning up this kind of racket will help our country a lot.”
