The intelligence entities of the government’s top law enforcement agencies were given full access at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) through the establishment of a liaison office of NCR’s Quad Intel Force which was formalized this morning in the Quad Intel Force Liason Office, NBP Reservation, Poblacion, Muntinlupa City.
It was attended by BuCor DIRECTOR GENERAL GERALD BANTAG, NCRPO Chief, PMGEN GUILLERMO LORENZO T ELEAZAR, JTF – LT COL EUGENE VILLALUZ and PDEA INVESTIGATION AGENT 5 BELTRAN LACAL JR.
This endeavor is part and parcel of extensive reformations to finally put an end on the culture of corruption and stop the operations of convicted drug lords and other convicted syndicate leaders inside the country’s main insular penitentiary.
“Kung matatandaan natin last week, nagkaroon kami ng Send-Off Ceremony ng 551 police personnel ng NCRPO. Ito’y bilang pagtugon sa hiling ng bagong Director General ng Bureau of Corrections dahil kailangan niya ng tulong para sa kanyang mga reforms na gagawin dito sa Bureau of Corrections,” PMGEN GUILLERMO LORENZO T ELEAZAR said in a press briefing held following his NBP visitation.
“Kailangan yung mga tao kaya’t minabuti natin na magbigay ng tulong sa kanya (BuCor Director Bantag) so, I committed our personnel na available from the Regional and District Mobile Force Battalion na magsisilbing malaking tulong sa atin in the long run kung matutugunan natin ang problema through the reforms of General Bantag,” PMGEN ELEAZAR added.
The Quad-Intel Force is the country’s finest intel alliance of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-NCR, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-NCR and the military’s Joint Task Force-NCR to be utilized as intelligence command headquarters to facilitate the sharing of information against convicted felons who are allegedly continuously running the operations of drugs syndicates and other criminal groups.
On his rationalization, PMGEN ELEAZAR expounded that the Liaison Office will serve as the eyes and ears of the Quad-Intel Force inside the NBP against drug lords and other convicted felons who head other criminal syndicates.
In return, the NCR Quad-Intel Force will provide the BuCor information about the criminal group operations that are possibly connected with convicted felons inside the NBP.
Meanwhile, his visit at the NBP also lead off for his inspection to the metro cops fielded to be of service in NBP as guard posts to ensure their efficiency and effectivity.
“Patuloy ang gagawin nating pagtutok sa mga pulis na nandito dahil kung ang kagustuhan nga natin ay makatulong, dapat ang mga ito ay hindi ma-tempt tulad sa mga naging problema noong dati dito sa Bureau of Corrections,” as assured by NCRPO Chief.
For his part, when asked on his initial evaluation to the status and predominant problem of BuCor and what does he intend to implement first aside from the temporary augmentation, DIRECTOR GENERAL BANTAG briefly but firmly responded saying: “ganun pa rin naman, saka na muna yan at makikita niyo nalang.”
