The National Capital Region Police Office through the Office of the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division (ORCADD) participated in the Fire Prevention Month Kick-off Program with the theme “Ligtas na Pilipinas Ating Kamtin, Bawat Pamilya ay Sanayin, Kaalaman sa Sunog ay Palawakin” on March 1, 2019 from 1:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Quirino Grandstand, Manila.
The activity started with a parade in front of Manila Hotel towards Quirino, Grandstand. It was participated by the NCRPO contingent led by PINSP ELVIRA P DAMIAN, Chief, Community Affairs Division, ORCADD; Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP); Philippine Air Force (PAF); Philippine Coast Guard (PCG); Philippine Navy (PN); BFP officers and personnel, fire volunteers, fire brigades, rescuers, students and other government disaster response agencies.
Hon. Eduardo M Año, Secretary of the Interior and Local Government emphasized in his message that fire safety should be every Filipino’s concern and it should be every family’s priority. “I encouraged everyone to observe the fire protection not only for the month of March but throughout the whole year”, Hon. Año added.
Highlights of the program were the demonstration of the Fire Truck Shower and awarding of tokens of appreciation to the Guest of Honor and Speaker and participating volunteers and agencies.
