Information Sharing, Vital For Successful Police Operations

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), Regional Director, PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS expressed his gratefulness to the public for the continuous information sharing, support and cooperation to the Team-NCRPO as the Manila Police District PS-4, Sampaloc Police Station arrested a drug suspect and confiscated dried leaves with fruiting of marijuana weighing 550 grams and estimated DDB value of Php 66,000.00.

Investigation disclosed that the suspect identified as John Ardel Cuartero y Rañoco @John, 24 years old, with live-in partner and sales-staff is also listed in the Drugs Watch List of Sampaloc Police Station.

The arrest of Cuartero emanated from a cellphone call received by the police from a confidential informant and concerned citizen who reported the illegal activities of two male factors along Maceda St. corner Dapitan St., Brgy. 520, Zone 51, Sampaloc, Manila.

After confirmation of the veracity of the information, the team proceeded immediately to the location. Upon arrival at the site, only Cuartero, who was acting suspiciously, was present. After the informant positively identified the suspect, the team immediately apprehended Cuartero and performed the mandatory frisking of the suspect.

Seized from Cuartero were: ten (10) pieces self-sealing transparent plastic sachets containing dried leaves with fruiting tops of marijuana with more or less fifty grams (50 grams) and estimated DDB value of six thousand (Php6, 000.00) pesos and another two (2) pieces rolled transparent plastic containing dried leaves with fruiting tops of marijuana with more or less five hundred grams (500 grams) and estimated DDB value of sixty thousand (Php60, 000.00) pesos.

Cuartero is now detained at Sampaloc Police Station, pending the filing of appropriate charges for Violation of Section 5 and 11, Art. II of R.A 9165 known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before the Manila City Prosecutors Office while the recovered pieces of evidence were submitted to the Manila Police District Crime Laboratory for proper disposition.

Ako po ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa ating mga kababayan na patuloy na sumusuporta at tumutulong sa Team NCRPO upang  magtagumpay ang ating mga kapulisan sa pagpapanatili ng kaayusan at kapayapaan sa buong Metro Manila.” PMGEN SINAS said.
