PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS, Chief, NCRPO commends Malabon City Police Station, Northern Police District, the Barangay Officials and Volunteers for the successful conduct of a river clean-up drive along P. Aquino Ave., Brgy. Tonsuya, Malabon City at around 7:00 AM of August 20, 2020.
The clean-up drive activity is in line with NCRPO’s directive regarding the rehabilitation of Metro’s waterways and river systems in support to “Manila Bay Clean-Up Rehabilitation and Preservation Program”.
Mostly in the cities in Metro, riversides become residential areas and due to poor waste management, drainage are clogged by garbages which cause flood during heavy rain, storm or when the rainy season begins.
The clean-up drive aims to encourage the public to properly dispose their waste in order to avoid the dangers of flood. It is also a measure to maintain and observe clean environment especially during this pandemic so as not to compromise the public’s health.
“As the saying goes, ‘if every community acts collectively, the city shall be clean’. It is our responsibility to keep our environment clean because we are ones who will also suffer if we don’t. Together, let’s help each other take good care of the community we are living in,” PMGEN SINAS emphasized.
