NCRPO Chief, PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS lauds the successful operation of Makati City Police Station in arresting one Malaysian National for possession of illegal drugs inside SOGO Hotel located at Anza St., Brgy. Poblacion, Makati City at around 7:35 AM of July 8, 2020.
Initial report disclosed that the suspect was about to leave the hotel when the security guard on duty approached him for failure to surrender the key card of his room. He then took the card from his pocket and accidentally showed a heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be SHABU to which the arresting officer thought it was an illegal drugs, hence resulted in his arrest.
Further probing showed that the suspect was identified as Billy Tan Poh Hin, Malaysian National, 30 y/o resident of San Andres Bukid Manila.
Seized from the suspect was one (1) pc small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be “SHABU” with estimated weight of more or less of 1 gram with an estimated value of Six Thousand eight hundred pesos (Php 6,800.00).
The item was duly marked and inventoried in the presence of Brgy. Chairman Benhur L Cruz of Brgy. Poblacion, Makati City.
The seized item was turned-over to SPD Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis. While suspect was brought to SIDMB Makati CPS for proper disposition of the case. He will be charged for the violation of Art II Sec. 11 of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
“We appreciate the continuous support of the public in maintaining peace and order in the Metro by providing information to our police officers. The abrupt response made by security officer of SOGO hotel showed that we, the PNP and public, are on the same page in eliminating illegal activities in our community,” PMGEN SINAS emphasized.
