Manila Police District Nabs 2 Suspects Over Illegal Possession Of Firearms And Explosives

Composite operatives of National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) units led by the Manila Police District (MPD) arrested live-in partners by virtue of arrest warrants for illegal possession of firearms, ammunitions and explosives.

The NCRPO Acting Regional Director, PBGEN DEBOLD M SINAS positively identified the suspects as Michael T Bartolome, 39 years old, male, native of Ilocos Norte and his live-in partner, Cora M Agovida, 37 years old, female, native of Masbate, both residing at 4th Floor, # 1189 – B, Julio Nakpil Street, Barangay 686, Zone 75, District 5, Paco, Manila.
The operation yielded the arrest of the abovementioned suspects’ subject for search warrant and confiscation of prohibited items, as follows:
a) 1 unit caliber 45 COLT MKIV Series 70 with serial 129435;
b) 1 unit caliber 45 ARMSCOR with defaced serial number;
c) 2 pcs magazines for caliber 45;
d) 13 pcs live ammunition for caliber 45;
e) 2 pcs hand grenade
f) 4 unit assorted cell phone;
g) 1 unit Apple MacBook laptop;
h) 2 units Seagate external memory color black and red;
i) 13 pcs assorted USB Drive;
j) 5 pcs assorted IDs;
k) 1 pc IPOD music
l) 7,920 pesos in different denomination;
m) 3 pcs revolutionary t-shirts; and
n) 4 boxes of revolutionary books and assorted subversive documents.

Accordingly, concerted efforts were made by the combined elements from the Manila Criminal Investigation and Detection Group District Field Unit and Manila Police District in implementing Search Warrant Numbers 5946 (19) and 5947 (19) issued by Branch 89 Quezon City, signed by Judge Cecilyn E. Burgos-Villavert, wherein above surmountable pieces of evidence were seized and confiscated from said suspects.

Subversive materials taken from the suspects are being referred for thorough evaluation/ analysis of Manila Criminal Investigation and Detection Group District Field Unit (Manila CIDG DFU).

Likewise, arrested persons were also brought to Manila CIDG Office for booking, documentation and filing of appropriate cases.

Meanwhile, PBGEN DEBOLD M SINAS clarified of how the two were being linked to militant groups during a press briefing held at the QCPD PS 10 – Kamuning Police Station.

“Ang alam ng MPD, ang alam namin, these are mere violations (pertaining) to firearms (and explosives), Ngayon lang naming nalaman kasi nagrally ang Gabriella sa harap ng MPD. Sinasabi na nila na ito ay secretary ng ganito, ng ganun,” PBGEN SINAS said.

“So, again, we tasked our Intel Unit to coordinate with our allied units to check kung ano ba talaga yung background nila. Sa ngayon, wala pa kaming complete details kung sila ba talaga yan o registered member ba sila, or what. Ang ginawa lang ng MPD, is to implement the approved search warrants,” PBGEN SINAS added.
