More Than 5,300 Law Enforcers Deployed For COPLAN CERBERUS

National Capital Region Police office in cooperation with other concerned agencies conducted COPLAN CERBERUS at the New Bilibid Prison compound quadrants 2 and 3, yesterday, February 3, 2020.

The operation resulted in the confiscation of several pieces of contrabands such as 575 electronic gadgets, 1,884 various appliances, 162 casino chips/playing cards, 35 sexual enhancers/ sex toys, deadly weapon, 11 bottles of liquor, 575 electronic gadgets, cash amounting to more than
P26,000 pesos and suspected illegal drugs among others. Also, among the items confiscated during the operation were rusty nails, metal pipes, gallons gas, hand tools and jewelry.

COPLAN CERBERUS was pulled off with NCRPO Chief PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS and Bureau of Corrections DIRECTOR GENERAL GERALD Q BANTAG taking the lead of more than 5,300 partakers from different agencies.

Among the agencies who participated in the Cerberus operation inside the national penitentiary were elements from the AFP Joint Task Force NCR, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency NCR, Bureau of Fire Protection NCR, Department of Public Works and Highways, PNP Special Action Force and Philippine Coastguard.

On the other hand, Team NCRPO is composed of different reactionary units and teams such as the Regional and District Mobile Force Battalion, Special Weapons And Tactics, Civil Disturbance Management Teams and police trainees of Basic Internal Security Operations Course and NCRPO Orientation Program.

The suspected illegal drugs confiscated will be turned over to PNP crime lab for confirmatory testing.

“NCRPO pledges its commitment to the endeavor of the New Bilibid Prison to cleanse the National Penitentiary from all forms of contraband and illegal drugs in order to effectively promote genuine reformation to persons under their custody”.

The NCRPO Chief emphasized that this operation was conducted in order to increase the jail’s security and to ensure orderliness at NBP’s Maximum Security Compound.

NCRPO’s pledge of commitment includes the enhancement of the current manner of its conduct of COPLAN CEBERUS. In this light, an operational debriefing was conducted to tackle issues, concerns and points for improvement in the succeeding operations.###
