NCRPO Implements Community Quarantine in the Metro

Following the call of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Thursday, March 12, 2020 announcing the imposition of Metro Manila-wide community quarantine that calls for strict social distancing measures, NCRPO implemented checkpoints around the Metro to monitor the borders in a bid to contain the threat of coronavirus disease 2019.

Today, NCRPO Chief, PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS personally inspected the status of deployment of NCRPO personnel amid the implementation of the aforementioned Community Quarantine in the whole National Capital Region.

Among the areas inspected by PMGEN SINAS are Caloocan City Police Station, Bahay Pari, Bankers Village 1, Caloocan, Meycawayan Boundary and Quirino Hi-Way Corner Malaria Road, Caloocan, San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan Boundary.

NCRPO Chief, pleads cooperation and understanding from the people of the Metro in the implementation of the imposed community quarantine. He advised them to stay at home as much as possible and to always observe and practice personal preventive measures such as proper hand hygiene, social distancing, and cough etiquette to prevent further spread of the virus.

“Please bear with us. I request everyone to please, as much as possible, refrain from loitering outside. We must all be vigilant and cooperative to hurdle through this crisis together. We cannot do this alone. Please, for your own good and safety, stay at home.”

COVID-19 is now a pandemic or a global outbreak of disease which happens when a new virus emerges to spread between people sustainably. There is little to no pre-existing immunity against the new virus yet. Hence, there is rapid community spread that is being detected in a growing number of countries worldwide. Community quarantine is one of the best way to contain the virus and make it easier for the health workers to contact trace, identify and treat those who are already infected thereby preventing further spread of the deadly pathogen.
