The Regional Director of NCRPO, PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS spearheaded the Creation of a Hostage Negotiation Team yesterday, 18th day of July 2020 at the QCPD Hinirang Social Hall, Camp PMGEN Tomas B Karingal, Sikatuna Village, Quezon City.
This endeavor aims to facilitate crisis negotiation training in order to develop and institutionalize effective police negotiation techniques necessary in dealing with hostage crisis situations.
Ultimately, the creation of the negotiation team aims to promptly address hostage taking situation and effectively handle crisis management issues in Metro Manila.
Initially, NCRPO envisions to create 2 Teams per Police District. Towards this end, an initial number of 58 participants attended the hostage negotiation training composed of 11 NPD personnel, 14 EPD personnel, 12 MPD personnel 12 SPD personnel and 9 QCPD personnel respectively.
“Hostage Crisis Situation is a crucial law enforcement concern. Most of the time, we are dealing not just with law violators but mentally, psychologically or even emotionally challenged individuals. Expertise is very essential in the peaceful resolution of this kind situation. Therefore, we have initiated the conduct of this training to create a dedicated team of trained experts to deal with hostage taking crisis should they arise anywhere in Metro Manila,” said PMGEN SINAS.
