Said operative was negotiating to transact buying of shabu from the suspect @ Edgar in exchange of Php 1, 600,000 inclusive of one (1) piece of genuine 1000-peso bill. However, during the said transaction, suspect noticed that he was dealing with a Police Operative and suddenly pulled out a firearm from his waist and a scuffle ensued. The suspect fired successive shots to the undercover agent who immediately fled to avoid being shot. Thereafter, the suspect fled going to Del Pilar St., where he was cornered and was ordered to lay down and surrender but instead he open fired at the operatives. As the raiding pursued him, the firefight broke out where the suspect was neutralized.

Recovered at the scene from the fallen suspect was a backpack containing four (4) packs of zip locked transparent plastic weighing more or less 1kilogram each containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu; one brown wallet containing 800.00 cash, assorted cards and a TIN ID card bearing a name of Edgardo Alfonso y Labay of Brgy. Tramo Pasig City; one Caliber 45 pistol without make and serial number, with chamber load and one inserted magazine with three (3) ammunitions; one (1) black FA holster; and three (3) empty shells of unknown caliber.

A total of 4 kilos of shabu with a total street value of P27.2M was the actual seizure.

Records show that Alfonso was member of syndicated criminal gang operating illegal drug trade in Metro Manila. He was one among the targets of intensive anti-illegal drugs operation under NCRPO Case Operational Plan.

According to NCRPO Chief, PMGEN ELEAZAR, although there are no longer shabu existence being monitored inside the Bilibid, there are still personalities inside who are giving guidance and instructions to their members outside the jail. Therefore, these members who are operating huge transactions outside are relentlessly being monitored and subjected to entrapment operations, in line with the Intensified Cleanliness Policy of NCRPO.

The seized pieces of evidence were immediately brought to the PNP Crime Laboratory Office for qualitative examination.

PMGEN ELEAZAR confirms that the suspect is a High Value Target. “We can say that, sya yung courier and player. Siya yung ginagamit, trusted ng grupo para magdeliver ng huge amount of shabu. Ang 4 kilograms, in our daily operation, wala tayung nahuhuling ganyan. Kaya naconsider natin na High Value Target yan.”

“Patuloy ang ating isinasagawa na case buid-up operation para sa iba pang kasamahan nila,” PMGEN ELEAZAR added. ###
