NCRPO, through its Chief PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS received three high-tech thermal scanners to boost the operational capabilities of its front liners deployed to guard checkpoints along the boundaries of Metro Manila.
Aside from its anti-criminality functions, checkpoints these days focus in the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine campaign of the government geared to ensure that the deadly Coronavirus is contained. This necessitates the taking of every person’s temperature before allowing to pass through the checkpoint.
However, NCRPO primarily relies solely to the use of thermal guns to guard the boundaries of the Metro against the spread of COVID 19 Pandemic to neighbouring Towns, Provinces and Cities.
With this, NCRPO Chief PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS requested for support from its stakeholders for the acquisition of a high tech thermal scanner to facilitate the smooth temperature checking of persons passing through our Quarantine Control Point (QCP).
“Pursuant to our request, a private company who opted to remain anonymous donated three FLIR Thermal Scanners for fast scanning of body temperature. This is Sweden Technology similar to those used in Airports. This will greatly aid our men deployed in checkpoints.”
The thermal scanners are placed in QCPs positioned in the following areas:
1) Malanday Bridge, Valenzuela connecting San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan;
2) Muntinlupa in Southern NCR; and
3) Marcos Highway, Marikina connecting antipolo rizal.
“We greatly appreciate the support and cooperation of everyone in this crisis. Despite the challenges, please know that your NCRPO is doing its best beyond its capacity to carry out its duty of keeping the Metro safe even from this unseen enemy.”
