The National Capital Region Police Office continues its relentless drive in cleaning the community against illegal drugs and bags one of the biggest hauls. NCRPO DIRECTOR PMGEN GUILLERMO ELEAZAR estimates the seized packs of Shabu, covered by tea wrappings, at Pesos Two Hundred Four Million (P204,000,000.00).

Joint elements of NCRPO Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU), Pasig City Station Drug Enforcement Unit-Eastern Police District, in coordination with PDEA NCR Regional Office successfully implemented a Search Warrant on September 16, 2019 at about 07:40pm at Bldg M2, 4th Flr, Unit 416, Sorrento Oasis Residences, C. Reymundo Avenue., Brgy Rosario, Pasig City resulting in the confiscation of the illegal contraband and the arrest of the suspected distributor.

The Search Warrant was issued by Executive Judge Danilo S Cruz of Regional Trial Court Branch 152, Pasig City.

The operation stemmed from the result of casing and surveillance conducted by the operatives against the suspect- Manolito Lugo Carlos @ Lito and/or Tonge. The subject area of operation occupied by Carlos is being rented to serve as the warehouse of illegal drugs.

Upon implementation of the search warrant, operatives discovered 30 big plastic packs of Chinese Tea. However, upon opening a few bags, the operatives discovered that the packs contained white crystalline substance, which was later admitted by the suspect to be the illegal substance, Shabu. Weighing more or less 1 kilo for each plastic bag or a total of 30 kilos, the seized Shabu was estimated at a street value of Php 204,000,000,00. Assorted drug paraphernalia and different bank deposit slips indicating therein the alleged amount of remittances as payment for the illegal drugs, were confiscated as well from the suspect.

Investigation revealed that the arrested suspect is a High-Value Target and a member of syndicated organized gang engaged in the illegal drug trade operating in Metro Manila, Region 3 and Calabarzon . In 2000, Carlos was previously arrested and charged before the Court of Mandaluyong City for illegal drug case. However, he was acquitted but opted to involve himself again in the distribution and sale of shabu.

Furthermore, NCRPO Chief, PMGEN GUILLERMO LORENZO T ELEAZAR said that Carlos is also connected to the neutralized suspect during the buy-bust operation in Quezon City last Sunday. They are a couple of contacts or distributors of illegal drugs being utilized by drug lords who are convicted in the National Bilibid Prison, Muntinlupa City. PMGEN ELEAZAR said, “this is proof that although the drug lords are already detained, they are able to operate and push transactions by giving instructions to their henchmen outside the jail.

The arrested suspect and recovered pieces of evidence were brought to RDEU office and will be subjected for technical examination before the PNP Crime Laboratory Office.

Criminal complaint for violation of Section 5 and 11 of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), RA 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition) are being prepared for filling in court against Carlos.

PMGEN ELEAZAR lauded the operatives for this accomplishment.” Isa ito sa pinakamalaki. Infact, ito ang pinakamalaki so far sa trabaho ng NCRPO”.

PMGEN ELEAZAR assured that the authorities will continue the case build-up against the other drug personalities , “Our drug enforcement agencies should take a deeper look as to how and why such volumes of illegal drugs enter the country and are even distributed in the heart of Metro Manila. On our part, we will continue to put pressure on these drug syndicates by arresting their couriers and distributors in the Metropolis. The volume of Shabu we just confiscated in our past 2 operations is a wake up call. It tells us that the war against illegal drugs should continue to be relentless and aggressive. The war is far from over “.
