ONE (1) MALE SUSPECT IN POSSESSION OF ILLEGAL DRUGS ARRESTED IN A QUARANTINE CONTROL POINT

The National Capital Region Police Office, Chief, PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS commends the 6th Mobile Force Company – Regional Mobile Force Battalion, National Capital Region Police Office for apprehending one (1) suspect in possession of illegal drugs along North 9 QCP, Kaagapay Road, Phase 7C, Brgy. 176, Bagong Silang, Caloocan City at around 3:00AM of September 10, 2020.

Initial investigation disclosed that the suspect was identified as GINER MALLARI Y PAGA, 29 years old, single, jobless and a resident of phase 7C, package 7, Blk. 56, Lot 7, Brgy. 176, Bagong Silang, Caloocan City.

The arrest ensued while the personnel of 6th MFC was conducting a checkpoint at a quarantine control point along Brgy. 176, Caloocan City. Paga was about to cross the border and as part of the protocol, one of the personnel asked for his quarantine pass. PAGA was unable to present any documentation which prompted the personnel to ask him to remove his face mask for identification.

Subsequently, after taking off his face mask, one (1) heat-sealed transparent sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu fell off from PAGA’s face mask which resulted in his arrest.

The recovered evidence has an estimated weight of more or less 0.7 grams with DDB value of PHP 4,760.00.

The item was duly marked and inventoried in the presence of Kagawad Antonio E. Cabantac of Brgy. 176, Caloocan City and Media Representative Mr. Renato Pedroche.

The arrested suspect was brought to 6th MFC office for further questioning and later on turned-over to Caloocan City Police Station for proper disposition pending the filing of appropriate charges to the court for violation of Sec. 11 Article II (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of RA 9165.

“Since we implemented checkpoints in different areas in the Metro, our personnel deployed have apprehended a lot of drug peddlers. This is a manifestation that even though we are in the midst of pandemic, TEAM NCRPO persists in our campaign against illegal drugs,” PMGEN SINAS stated.
