ONE SOCO TEAM PER CITY OPERATING ALL OVER METRO MANILA

As the Chief of the National Capital Region Police Office, PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS envisioned to have timely, effective and efficient response and forensic investigation of crime incidents, the concept of “One SOCO Team per City” has been realized in Metro Manila.

RD, NCRPO organized one SOCO Team in each of the cities within NCR under the operational control of the Chief of Police/Station Commanders which will respond to calls for SOCO assistance within their respective areas of responsibility.

Through the completion of a SOCO course, personnel’s abilities in conducting scientific crime scene processes and establishing facts relative to crime incident were developed and enhanced. They were prepared properly in undertaking SOCO duties and responsibilities.

As of the moment, NPD has three (3) Cities that have their own SOCO Teams; EPD has 2 Cities with SOCO Teams; MPD has 2 SOCO Teams for their areas of responsibility; while four (4) Cities in SPD have their own SOCO Teams; and 2 SOCO Teams are currently operational in QCPD.

The SOCO Teams are co-located within the police stations to ensure close coordination and collaboration between and among the forensic evidence collectors and criminal investigators;

PMGEN SINAS  provided each SOCO Team with their SOCO Kits, Casting and Molding Kits, Fingerprint Kits, SOCO Shirts, PPEs & raincoats while offices and vehicles were also given to them.

“Metro Manila is now experiencing the operational readiness of the NCRPO SOCO Teams. Cities having their own Teams will give a response time of 5 to 10 minutes in arriving to the crime scene and be at the forefront in processing and gathering evidence, solving any case from the focus crimes to sensational incidents. Once again, we are encouraging the public to immediately report to the nearest barangay officials and the police hotlines any suspicious person or untoward incident in your community. This is Team NCRPO’s Text Hotlines: 0915-888-8181 (Globe) and 0999-901-8181 (Smart),” said PMGEN SINAS.
