Paranaque Police Confiscates Chinese Medicine Contrabands

Anti-criminality efforts of National Capital Region Police Office led to the arrest of one (1) Chinese caretaker and confiscation of contrabands on April 26, 2020 at about 6:30 PM at 2555 Lt. Garcia St., Brgy. Baclaran, Parañaque City .

Arrested suspect was identified as Liang Yumei, female, Chinese national, caretaker, residing at 2555 Lt. Garcia St., Brgy. Baclaran, Parañaque City.

The operation stemmed from the report of one Epigenia R Caretas, maid of  Liang Yumei, who was fired due to work inefficiency.  Caretas went to the barangay to seek assistance to get quarantine pass at her residence. She was then assisted by barangay captain of Baclaran to the said place.

Upon opening  their rented house, Barangay Captain discovered the assorted boxes of Chinese medicine. They immediately reported the incident to the local government City Health Office and found out that it has no approved permit from health department.

Thereafter, on the same date, at about 9:20PM, local health personnel also discovered another clinic containing  assorted boxes of Chinese medicine located at the same street owned by a male Chinese person which resulted in the confiscation of said medicines.

Operatives were able to confiscate more or less 200 boxes of undetermined Chinese medicines.

The arrested suspect is under custody of the said police station for proper disposition.
