PEACEBUILDING AND COUNTER-RADICALIZATION FORUM WITH THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY IN COMMONWEALTH MARKET, QUEZON CITY

This Police Office through the Office of the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division (ORCADD) in coordination with the District Community Affairs and Development Division (DCADD), Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and Batasan Police Station conducted Peacebuilding and Counter-Radicalization Forum with the Muslim Community held on April 12, 2019 (Friday) from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Barangay Commonwealth, Commonwealth Market, Quezon City. 

The activity was attended by PCPT JOBIE A SENARIO, Chief, PIS, RCADD; SPO3 Ali A Aratuc, Chief, Clerk, DCADD, QCPD; PSSg Rowena L Manuel, Salaam Police Center, Action PNCO, RCADD, NCRPO and representative from personnel of DCADD, QCPD, and SCADD, Batasan Police Station and more or less one hundred (100) participants composed of Muslim leaders, Imams of Amana Mosque, and members of the Business Sector of Commonwealth Market and Salaam Police Volunteers of Batasan Police Station. 

The activity started with a prayer rendered by Ustadz Nasser Adapun followed by the welcome remarks of PCPT SENARIO wherein he extends his gratitude for the support of the Muslim communities particularly the businessmen and traders of Commonwealth Market in the anti-criminality and emphasized the importance of Police and Muslim partnership in maintaining peace and order in the community. 

Further, PSSg Allan Erick Bacalzo, SOPS, Action PNCO Batasan PS-6 presented the updates on Barangay Drug Clearing Operations and peace and order situation of Batasan Police Station. During the open forum Atty. Mac Mangotara, President of the Business Sector of Commonwealth Market pledged to be an active partner of the PNP in its pro-active efforts against criminality, illegal drugs, terrorism, and other illegal activities in their community. 

The activity successfully ended at about 12:00 PM with the distribution of one hundred (100) flyers on Crime Prevention, Anti- Illegal Drugs, 2019 Midterm Elections and Anti-Bomb Threat containing ISMOT Hotline numbers of the NCRPO and photo opportunities.
