Mental health struggles can be experienced in all walks of life and at any age, it is unfortunate that the strong and brave policemen are not exempted to it. In line with this, PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS initiated the conduct of Psychosocial Support Services for all NCRPO personnel.
The Psychosocial Support Services provides appropriate psychological interventions such as Stress Debriefing, Counselling, Psychoeducation and psychotherapy to all five (5) Police Districts. However, having higher exposure to the virus, personnel from Quarantine Control Points will be prioritized by the NeuroPsychiatric Team for this program.
“With the extension of Enhanced Community Quarantine, we aim to promote proactive approach in taking care of the mental health of our uniformed personnel,” PMGEN SINAS said.
Just recently, NCRPO through its Regional Health Service, also launched a Mental Health Awareness Program wherein commanders and head of offices must closely check and monitor the wellness and mental health of their personnel. Furthermore, Telecounseling and Stress Debriefing are being conducted regularly to all personnel under Quarantine Procedure at Special Care Facilities inside Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City to policemen categorized as Person Under Monitoring (PUMs) and Person Under Investigation (PUIs) in order to prevent mental health consequences of being considered as Probable or Suspect case of COVID-19.
“We understand that our men in uniform also suffer from silent battle cries but opt to stay strong to continuously serve the community. With this, I want to ensure that the they will have enough rest, nourishment and psychological assistance to surmount the challenges of CoViD 19 as well as for them to come home to their families safe, sound and healthy, “ PMGEN SINAS added.
