QCPD Recovers Chemical Substance Along the Road of Quezon City

PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS, Regional Director, National Capital Region Police Office lauds the Responder of the Quezon City Police District-Explosive Ordnance Disposal (QCPD-EOD) Team for their immediate response on a reported discovery of one (1) M18 hand grenade at about 2:30PM on August 31, 2020.

The incident was reported by Richard Tumambac y Lerit, 38 years old, male, single, Network Engineer, native of Quezon City and presently residing at #49 Liwanag St. Brgy. Old Balara Quezon City.

Investigation disclosed that the witness was walking when he noticed one (1) M18 hand grenade at the pathway at Liwanag St., Brgy. Old Balara, Quezon. This prompted the witness to report the incident to police officers of Sub-Station 1 Old Balara. The police officers likewise reported the incident to Batasan Police Station 6, QCPD.

Subsequently, acting on the report, responding team from QCPD-EOD were immediately dispatched to the area to verify of the report. They conducted investigation and found out that the hand grenade reported turned out to be a teargas. The team brought the recovered chemical substance to the QCPD-EOD for proper investigation and disposition as per Standard Operating Procedure.

 “I appreciate the vigilance of our people, the diligence of our patrolling policemen as well as the immediate response of our first responders of the incident. This situation displays strong police community relations in achieving a common goal of keeping the community safe and protected at all times,” PMGEN SINAS stated.
