The Regional Special Operations Unit (RSOU), NCRPO under the leadership of PMGEN GUILLERMO LORENZO T ELEAZAR, Regional Director, NCRPO conducted an entrapment operation at about 7:30 PM of October 1, 2019 at the Food Court, located at the Fourth Floor of Gateway Mall, Cubao, Quezon City, which resulted in the arrest of a robbery extortion suspect.
The arrested suspect was identified as Chloe Sariana Peralta, female, 35 years old, married, a native of Pasacao Camarines Sur and currently residing at No. 1053 Kamias St., Napico, Mangahan, Pasig City.
The operation stemmed from a complaint of Imee Buena Parpan, claiming that the suspect’s group swindled and extorted money from her.
Investigation revealed that sometime in August 2019, the victim was offered of a repossessed Toyota Grandia by Eric Sancho who claimed to have a direct contact with the manager of Toyota Pasong Tamo. After a month, on September 17 this year, Ms. Parpan received an SMS from a person who introduced herself as Chloe Peralta, informing her that her application to buy a repossessed car at Toyota Pasong Tamo has been approved and she needs to deposit Php 250,000 to BPI under the account of Francis Jalbert Angeles with account number 009619-0741-11 as initial payment of the Php 850,000 total value of the vehicle, which Ms. Parpan did on the next day, September 18, 2019. She was told to wait as the vehicle will have to be reconditioned before its release.
On September 25, Mrs. Peralta and her husband Wynebert Peralta demanded the remaining balance of Php 600,000 for the release of the vehicle. On same day Ms. Parpan deposited the amount of Six Hundred Thousand Pesos (Php 600,000.00) on the same bank account of Francis Jalbert Renosa Angeles. After which, the couple instructed Ms. Parpan to proceed to SM Fairview for the release of the vehicle. Unfortunately, Ms. Parpan’s relatives waited until midnight but no vehicle was delivered.
After several days of begging to deliver the vehicle, Mrs. Peralta advised Ms. Parpan to file a case against the owner of the bank account, Francis Jalbert Renosa Angeles and she will help her facilitate the filing of the case.
On October 1, 2019, Mrs. Peralta called Ms. Parpan demanding the money intended for the filing of a case but Ms. Parpan sensed that she was just deceived again, thus prompted her to sought assistance at RSOU office.
Thereafter, an entrapment was hatched by RSOU, NCRPO operatives against the suspect with the agreed amount of money.
At about 5:48 PM of the same date, RSOU operatives together with the complainant proceeded to Gateway Mall, the agreed place of the deal. Mrs. Peralta showed up and transacted with Ms. Parpan. After Mrs. Peralta received the Php 10,000 entrapment money she was arrested by the operatives.
Operatives were able to recover the entrapment money from Mrs. Peralta composed of genuine One Thousand Peso (Php1, 000.00) bill incorporated with nine (9) One Thousand Peso (Php1, 000.00) bills boodle money.
