SINAS lauds the immediate response of PS 3 Talipapa, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) which resulted in the arrest of one (1) male person for illegal possession of firearm at around 2:00 PM of July 6, 2020 along Purok 5, Brgy. Culiat, Quezon City.

Initial report disclosed that PS 3 received a call from a concerned citizen that one male person was allegedly carrying an unknown caliber pistol at Purok 5 Brgy. Culiat, Quezon City.

Consequently, the police officers immediately proceeded to the area and upon arrival, saw the suspect holding an unknown caliber pistol. However, as they approached him, suspect instantly ran away prompting the police officers to chase the suspect and resulted in his arrest and the confiscation of the firearm.

Further probing showed that the arrested suspect was identified as Wilner Villaluz y Basto, 34 years old, (April 9, 1986), male, single, construction worker, native of Quezon Province and presently residing at no. 27, Purok 5, Brgy. Culiat, QC.

Seized from the suspect were the following pieces of evidence:

a)         One (1) unit of cal. 45 ARMSCOR with serial no. 1546436.

b)         One (1) magazine

c)         Four (4) pieces live ammunition

The confiscated pieces of evidence were turned-over to Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Crime Laboratory for examination. The suspect is in the custody of PS 3 Talipapa and charges will be filed before the Quezon City Prosecutors Office for Violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition and Regulation Act)

“I commend the immediate response by QCPD to arrest the suspect who was in possession of an illegal firearm. I would also like to acknowledge the significant role of the public in maintaining the peace and order in the Metro by providing information relevant to the success of every police operation,” PMGEN SINAS said.
