NCRPO Chief PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS lauds the successful anti-illegal drug operation conducted by the personnel of the District Drug Enforcement Unit of the Manila Police District which led to the arrest of two drug personalities and confiscation of more than 300k worth of suspected illegal drugs.
According to the initial report, the operation stemmed from information from a confidential informant regarding the involvement of the suspects in illegal drug activities which prompted the operatives of DDEU, MPD to conduct a buy-bust operation in close coordination with PDEA.
The operation was held at about 2:45 PM of July 16, 2020 in front of 7-11 Convenience Store located at Moriones St., Cor. N. Zamora St., Brgy. 64, Zone 6, District I, Tondo, Manila.
The arrested suspects were identified to be the following persons thus:
SUSPECT 1- JULIE PINEDA y SABOSAP alias Ate, 56 years old, single, female, jobless, resident of No. 199F Osmeña St., Brgy. 112, District 1, Tondo, Manila; and
SUSPECT 2- JESSICA SALONOY y SOLIVERES alias Jingkay, 36 years old, female, single, tricycle driver, resident of No. 101C Quirino St., Brgy. 107, Zone 9, District 1, Tondo, Manila.
Seized from their possession are the following pieces of evidence to wit:
a. One (1) piece medium heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing crystalline substance suspected to be Shabu with markings: JBL BUYBUST 07-16-2020 with signature;
b. One (1) piece medium heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing crystalline substance suspected to be Shabu with markings: JBL-1 07-16-2020 with signature;
c. One (1) piece small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing crystalline substance suspected to be Shabu with markings: RIT 07-16-2020 with signature;
d. One (1) piece color brown paper bag used as container of the drug evidence with markings: JBL-2 07-16-2020 with signature;
e. One (1) unit motorcycle color black Honda with sidecar, without plate number, marked as: RIT-1 07-16-2020 with signature;
f. One (1) genuine five hundred peso bill (500.00) with serial number QM461346 with initial DEU on the upper left portion of the bill, utilized as buy bust money;
g. Seventy-Nine (79) pieces one thousand (1,000) boodle/fake money; and
h. One (1) piece five hundred (500) boodle/fake money.
The inventory and marking of the recovered pieces of evidence was done in the place of apprehension and in the presence of the accused and mandatory witnesses namely, Kagawad Norberto S Melgarejo of Brgy. 64, Zone 6, District I, Tondo, Manila and LEONARD BASILIO, Media Practitioner of MPD, Press Corps.
The total confiscated drug evidence has an over-all estimated weight of more or less 48.30 grams with approximate DDB Value of P328,440.00.
It was taken to the Crime Laboratory for confirmatory testing while the suspects were brought to DDEU Office for filing of charges for violation of Section 11 and Section 5, Article Il of RA 9165.
