Undetermined Chinese Medicine and Supplies Confiscated in an Illegal Chinese Pharmacy

PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS lauds the Paranaque City Police Station-Southern Police District for the confiscation of undetermined chinese medicines and medical supplies at 1:00pm of June 20, 2020 at the 3rd Floor of Morgana Building, Multinational Avenue, Multinational Village, Moonwalk, Parañaque City.

Suspect  was identified as Cai, Yongchun, male, married, date of birth May 29, 1969, residing at Unit 114 Morgana Bldg.,  Multinational Ave., Multinational Village, Moonwalk, Parañaque City.

Operation stemmed when the authorities received complaints from residents of the subdivision regarding foreign nationals engaged in selling and distribution of medicines without valid permit.

Thereafter, Paranaque City Police Station in coordination with City Officials and other department heads, conducted verification at different business establishments within the area that resulted in the discovery of medicines and medical supplies with labels in Chinese characters and without English translations at the 3rd floor of Morgana Building.

Upon verification, suspect failed to show necessary permits and other legal documents for the possession and control of the medicines and medical supplies.   Confiscated evidence were a total of 64 boxes and 40 plastic bags of alleged Chinese medicines and medical supplies.

Gathered pieces of evidence were temporarily under the custody of City Health Officials and subsequently will be turned over to the Food and Drugs Administration of the Philippines (FDA) for proper disposition.

Complaint for violation of RA 10918 (Philippine Pharmacy Act) is being prepared against the arrested suspect.

“We are continuously intensifying our operations against illegal medicine and medical supplies all over Metro Manila. We call the perpetual cooperation of the public to report any fake or illegally operating pharmacies and hospitals. We shall not risk the health of everyone in this fight against the unseen,” said PMGEN SINAS.
