PMGEN DEBOLD M SINAS lauds the Regional Intelligence Unit NCRPO, Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit- Regional Field Unit-NCR, Southern MMDFU and Pasay City Police Station for the successful conduct of Oplan Olea which resulted in the confiscation of unregistered Chinese medicines and other medical supplies and the arrest of a Chinese national allegedly owner of the store.
The operation stemmed from the information report provided by RIU NCR that said suspect is engaged in illegal selling of unregistered Chinese medicines and medical practice without any license to operate at the Kang Fu Clinic, Hobbies of Asia, Diosdado Macapagal Avenue, Brgy. 76, Zone 10, Pasay City.
After the test buy and coordination with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the operation was then hatched at 6:00pm of July 6, 2020 by the said operatives in coordination with Deputy Director General Maria Lourdes Santiago, FDA.
Arrested suspect was identified as TIAN SHANG GUO, (Chinese National), 47 years old, married, Store Owner and currently residing at Brgy. 76, Zone 10, Diosdado Macapagal Avenue, Pasay City
Confiscated evidence were four (4) boxes of assorted unregistered Chinese medicines.
Seized items are now under the custody of CIDU-RFU for further investigation and proper disposition.
Tian Shang Guo is currently at RFU NCR while criminal charges for violation of RA 9711/Food and Drugs Administration Law and RA 10918/ Philippine Pharmacy Law are being prepared for filing thru inquest proceedings.
“We are glad that the public continuously reports fake and illegally operating pharmacies and clinics. We cannot discount the risks of these medicines to the health of the would be customers and patients,” said PMGEN SINAS.
