The Station Intelligence Branch (SID) and Station Investigation an Detective Management Branch of Valenzuela City Police Station in coordination with Bureau of Customs successfully confiscated imported fraudulent cigarettes and other merchandise and arrested two (2) suspects during the conduct of follow up operation on April 30, 2020 around 3:00 PM at JIA Plastic Marketing Lot. 2 Cabral Compound, Mulawinan Street, Barangay Lawang Bato, Valenzuela City.
Suspects were identified as Lianchi Lin @ Simon Lin, male, 31 years old, Chinese National, businessman, and a resident of No. 7 Pearl Island Industrial Compound, Barangay Punturin, Valenzuela City; and
Juanito Ibayan Arcilla, male, 31 years old, native of Meycuayan, Bulacan, and a resident of No. 31 Columbia Street, Arbour Town Subdivision, Barangay Gen. T. De Leon, Valenzuela City.
The follow up operation stemmed from the the arrest of Li Jianxin and Cair Omar Dilausan for violation of Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) and Article 151 of RPC (Resistance and Disobedience of Authority) that resulted in the confiscation of seven (7) boxes of imported cigarette. Tactical interrogation from the suspects led to extraction of vital information and a follow – up operation.
During the operation, operatives presented the Letter of Authority from Bureau of Custom signed by Commissioner Rey Leonardo B Guerrero, thus, they were able to enter and search the premises of JIA Plastic Marketing. As a result, operatives seized imported fraudulent cigarettes and other imported merchandise.
All recovered items at the warehouse are now under the custom control of the Bureau of Corrections, prior to the determination of payment of duties and taxes of imported goods without prejudice to the filing of appropriate charges against the above named suspects/owner/importer in the event that they fail to produce necessary documents.
Meanwhile, the said JIA Plastic Marketing Warehouse was sealed off and temporarily closed by the Bureau of Customs.
